SAP has been known for spearheading initiatives that protect the rights of Women and the young people especially girls. Protecting Women’s rights and Economic empowerment of women is paramount for the social transformation of any community in Uganda because of the majority presence of women in the informal and agricultural sector. The trickle down-effect of an economically empowered woman reaches a multitude of beneficiaries ranging from her family, relatives and the community. Women’s participation in decision making is not a demand for simple justice or democracy but can also be seen as a necessary condition to women’s interest to be taken into account.
Women’s rights must be upheld for any society to transform. Violence aagainst Women of every nature will not be tolerated in the communities. This has been SAP’s niche and we continue to end all forms of violence against women and young people.
